So, I've decided to try my hand at blogging, sort of like a gateway drug into making YouTube videos. What better way to start off than with a First Impressions.
First up is Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream.
Description: "Locks in moisture for 24 hours. Blocks out dryness. A light, oil free, gel-cream texture penetrates deeply into skin's upper layers so that skin looks and fels soft and smooth."
They recommend that you use it morning and night.
- Oil free.
- Non-comedogenic (Won't clog pores).
- Dermatologist tested for safety.
- Gentle to skin.
- Allergy Tested.
- Non-greasy.
Result Claims:
Instantly - Skin looks and feels supple and smooth. Stays hydrated for 24 hours.
In 1 Hour - Skin's moisture barrier is strengthened to prevent dryness.
With Regular Use - Continuously moisturized, skin is strengthened and looks healthier.
My First Impressions:
Instantly - The claim holds up part way, my skin definitely felt supple and smooth, but I can't really say it lasted 24 hours.
In 1 hour - My skin did still feel quite smooth and soft, definitely a nice treat.
Appearance/Packaging - The gel-cream comes in a small, clear, glass jar with a white screw on cap. Not overly cute or overly annoying.. However, some people will find it unhygenic. The jar is then packaged in a normal Garnier type box with the product description, ingredients, etc.
The gel-cream itself is definitely just as described, an almost liquid looking gel and while it doesn't look like much in the container, you don't need a lot, so I'm thinking that this will last for a long time.
Texture - Again, just as described. Very cooling to touch so it's great for the summer. It is a gel, but it isn't sticky and feels very smooth and almost creamy when applied. It isn't greasy or oily and dries very quickly unless you apply too much. As I said before, a little goes a long way.
Scent - While it is scented, the scent isn't terribly overpowering. It's a somewhat difficult to explain scent, sort of a clean floral type smell.
Price - At my Wal-mart this product cost $5.47 + tax, but it can range from $5 to around $7 or $8 depending on where you purchase it.
Size - 1.7 oz/ 50 g.
Overall - I definitely like this moisturizer so far, the texture is amazing and I love that it dries so quickly especially at night. Who likes getting greasy moisturizers all over their pillows? I will definitely Update after a week or two of using this product to say whether or not it's good long-term and if it causes any break outs. But for $5.47, it's pretty unbeatable so far.
4.5/5 Stars - .5 off because it could've had cuter/better packaging and lets be honest, who doesn't like cute packaging?
